NGC Systems president Chen Chee Onn and Paradial chief executive officer Kevin Kliland formalized the collaboration by signing a technology marketing partnership today at Paradial’s headquarters in Oslo, Norway . This agreement answers rising demand for Next Generation Network (NGN) IP communication solutions and increases the number of marketing channels to cross sell both NGC Systems and Paradial’s solutions.

It’s a major milestone for us as an export-oriented Information and Communications (ICT) Technology provider. This agreement forms a new chapter part in NGC Systems’ expansion plan, after Asia, Middle East and Australasia.

In addition to marketing efforts, the agreement also includes a technology partnership between NGC Systems and Paradial. “On the table are technology collaborations between our research and development teams. We will engineer Paradial’s Realtunnel and Realsip technology into Genico™”, said Chen. In return, Paradial will make use of NGC Systems’ Genico™ LiveContact technology, a flexible and powerful Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) client to complete its suite of IP communication solutions.
“Europe is a strategic market for us because it has a higher broadband penetration rate. For example, the broadband household penetration rate in Europe is approximately 18 per cent in Q1 2005. An annualized growth rate of this quarter implies a 50 per cent growth rate this year,” said Chen. “Furthermore, Europe is witnessing the beginning of a mass migration, from using traditional network to IP network, over a five-year period. This migration is expected to become main stream next year and last until 2008.”
The union of technology from both parties enables enterprises to commit and deploy an enterprise-wide complete IP communication platform and retain the protection offered by network security tools like firewalls and Network Address Translation (NAT) devices.
These tools usually prevent access to IP communication services like Voice Calls, Video Calls, Voice Call Conferencing, Video Call Conferencing, IM Conferencing and File Transfers. “The combination of Genico™ with RealTunnel and Realsip means enterprises, especially those with a mobile workforce or multi branch operations can reap the full benefits of IP communications,” said Chen.
Using Genico™, a complete IP Communication platform which unifies data, voice and video services on a single network, enterprise users can seamlessly make and receive traditional voice calls to and from business contacts or colleagues, on Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) or mobile networks such as GSM and CDMA.
