RealTunnel® Firewall/NAT unlocks the value and cost savings possible by enabling real-time audio and video communication applications across organizational and network boundaries, including the Internet and corporate intranets.

The RealTunnel® firewall traversal solution is an open and SIP and H.323-compliant solution which makes SIP and H.323 clients work with virtually any firewall and network in a non-intrusive way and without any reconfiguration required. RealTunnel® Firewall/NAT supports all client features (presence, chat, voice, video, application sharing, multiparty conferencing) regardless of network. RealTunnel® ensures the higest call success rate available and can be offered OEM/white label. The RealTunnel® solution comprises a client and server part which both are standards based and may run independently of each other.

The RealTunnel® solution may be configured and setup as a VoIP SSL VPN.  It is also ideal for P2P (peer-to-peer) and music/content distribution.

Traditional SBCs (Session Border Controller) only comprise a small subset of the RealTunnel® traversal capabilities. SBCs are designed with the purpose of handling peering traffic between different domains or ISPs, often referred to as near-end NAT traversal. RealTunnel® is designed for solving the connectivity problem from the end user to the operator or ISP, often referred to as far-end NAT traversal. Normally SBCs only relay RTP/UDP traffic, meaning that all those users trying to place calls from behind UDP blocked NATs and firewalls devices will fail. The SBCs have none or little logic for making sure the calls are setup in an optimal way. I.e. to use direct media when possible (same LAN, ICE, STUN) and only relay media when necassary. When media has to be relayed the optimal transport mechanisms on each call leg must be selected with optimal QoS, even for TCP and SSL.
